Coach Leonard Johnson, USPTA Pro 2, was a tennis instructor at the Encino Community Center in Encino, Calif for over 13yrs (1998 - 2011. He was also tennis instructor at the Chatsworth Recreation Center for two years. Other previous employment includes the Neighborhood Junior Tennis Program in San Fernando Valley, Calif. 5yrs, Stretch-N-Grow Sports in Southern Calif.1yr, Mitchell Tennis Center in Winnetka, Calif. 3yrs, and Laura's Tips in Santa Monica, Calif.1yr. Leonard was also a contract tennis instructor for the City of Lancaster, the City of Palmdale and the Rosamond in the Antelope Valley. Coach Leonard teaches the National Junior Tennis and Learning program in Lancaster, CA. Leonard worked for the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in West Los Angeles, Calif., for 30 years as an engineering troubleshooter. Retired in 1998.
Coach Leonard has been involved with tennis for over 40 years, competing at local tournaments, leagues and clubs. He started teaching tennis in 1998. "I have always enjoyed the game of tennis," he says. "I felt I had something to offer anyone that wants to learn the game the way I did, from the ground up". Johnson's Community Junior/Adult Tennis Association,( JCJ/ATA ) a Community Tennis Association in the Antelope Valley. Their moto is:

Leonard's goal is to one day have his own tennis facility.
"Tennis and music are my two passions," he says. He is a jazz musician and plays lead guitar in a band he formed in 1998.
